What is the Design Lab

Part design playground, part mad scientist's laboratory, the Design Lab is a special range of products within The Camden Watch Company collection.

Access to the Design Lab is free but spaces are limited, this is due to the fact that the watches are produced in small batches, sometimes of only one. We use this series to push our boundaries, seek out new ideas and challenge the limits of our collection.

Some are limited edition, others become part of the main collection, but they are all designed the same way, with passion, enthusiasm, and a whole lotta love.

We have three main styles of Design Lab watches; Frankenstein, Small Batch and First Editions.

What is a Frankenstein Edition?

A Frankenstein Edition is a watch assembled by our Co-Founder Jerome right here in Camden Town using various parts from different watches within the collection, put together to create something totally new.

Each Frankstein edition is signed, dated and numbered on the interior of the caseback.

What is a Small Batch Edition?

A Small Batch edition is exactly what it sounds like, a style or colourway that is produced in a small, limited run, of usually around 50 pieces, and once they're gone, they're gone.

What is a First Edition?

A first edition is the first production run of a new idea, usually produced in a small quantity to begin with. Generally, they will make their way into the main collection, sometimes as they are and sometimes with a few minor tweaks such as hand colour or style of strap.
